World Pond Skimming Championships
Apr 20 @ 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm

REGISTER NOW | RULES

The legendary World Pond Skimming Championships, presented by Red Bull, returns to Lake Golden Peak at Vail Mountain’s Golden Peak base area on April 20, 2014. The venue will open at 1:30 p.m. with expos and giveaways from event sponsors, and the competition will get going at 3:00 p.m.

The annual competition entails floatable (and sometimes sinkable) athletes launching themselves off an on-snow jump onto an icy pond in attempt to successfully exit the pond on both feet. Competitors will vie for both fame and glory in a showing that defies the laws of physics – and perhaps even common sense.

This year, two Champions will be crowned – the top male and top female competitor – who will each take home an Epic Pass for the 2014-2015 season and a pair of Liberty Skis.

Registration is now open! Registration is $75 and is limited to a field of 75 participants.

ART by Yasmina Reza
Apr 25 @ 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Three Friends. One Large, Expensive, White Painting. The comedy, which raises questions about art and friendship, concerns three long-time friends, Serge, Marc, and Yvan. Serge, indulging his penchant for modern art, buys a large, expensive, completely white painting. Marc is horrified, and their relationship suffers considerable strain as a result of their differing opinions about what constitutes “art”. Yvan, caught in the middle of the conflict, tries to please and mollify both of them. Buy tickets online at www.brownpapertickets.com
