Steamboat Marathon Partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado
For the 2nd year the Steamboat Marathon has partnered with Children’s Hospital Colorado to raise funds in support of kids battling cancer. We hope you’ll sign up below and join a fundraising team.
About Children’s Hospital Colorado Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders
Children’s Hospital Colorado Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders (CCBD) provides around-the-clock care to children in a seven state region and beyond. CCBD physicians treat 200 to 250 new patients each year and follow 600 active patients as well as 600 long-term survivors annually. The Center is the only dedicated pediatric cancer center in our region, and it is home to numerous specialized programs, which provide state-of-the-art methods for diagnosing and treating complex diseases. As a top-10 cancer program in the nation, CCBD aspires to be the very best.
About Miles for Tuesday
Miles for Tuesday is comprised of runners of all experience levels with one common goal… running in local Colorado events to raise funds in support of kids battling cancer at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Miles for Tuesday was named in honor of Tuesday Whitt from Castle Rock, CO who lost her battle to neuroblastoma (a childhood cancer) at the age of 2, and whose courageousness has inspired so many. Since 2009 runners have been joining Miles for Tuesday, and have collectively raised over $125,000 for the CCBD in memory of Tuesday Whitt.

AEG Live is excited to welcome back TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Tedeschi Trucks Band returns to Red Rocks after sold out shows in 2013 with Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and 2014 with Gary Clark Jr. Keeping with tradition, the line-up for 2015 is extra special with Grammy-nominated Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, and Doyle Bramhall II.
In just four years, Tedeschi Trucks Band — the 11-member tour de force led by husband-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi — has taken its hearty roots-rich musical mix to audiences across the globe and become a proven music powerhouse. Driven by Trucks’ signature slide-guitar sound and Tedeschi’s commanding soulful voice, Tedeschi Trucks Band delivers an electrifying blend of blues, soul, jazz, and rock that has fans and critics raving. “A deeply skilled groove machine” (Los Angeles Times) that “booms like a soul thunderclap” (Boston Herald). Tedeschi Trucks Band debuted big with its Grammy Award-winning Revelator, 2012’s dynamic live follow up, Everybody’s Talkin’ and continued that momentum in 2013 with Made Up Mind bolstering the group’s growing reputation as the preeminent leader in modern blues-rock. With guitarist Derek Trucks’ departure from The Allman Brothers Band now final, the band enters 2015 with full-time dedication allowing more time to write new songs together as an ensemble, many of which will be road-tested throughout the summer shows.
While other artists have ridden the waves of passing fads, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have bypassed the hype-and-hit superhighway and taken a detour straight to the hearts of their listeners, delivering a visceral rhythm and soul sound to an ever-expanding fan base. The band has traveled the world for more than a decade, blowing minds with their explosive live performances and their raw, hand-crafted studio recordings. The prolific survivor that she is, Sharon Jones has fully recovered from a 2013 cancer diagnosis and bounced back with one biggest years of her career in 2014 capped off by a Grammy nomination for her album, Give the People What They Want.
