Kona is a 3 year old Pitbull terrier mix. She is a spayed female that is very pretty. Her brindle coat and sweet face will woo you and when she gives you those puppy dogs eyes, she will win you over! Kona has a quiet personality and we are starting some basic training with her using a gentle leader. She seems to do well with other dogs that are her size but we have not introduced her to smaller dogs or cats.

All animals available for adoption can be visited at the Eagle County Animal Shelter. We encourage people looking for a new pet to come spend some time with them in an effort to ensure a good match. Current adoption hours are Monday – Friday 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturdays are by appointment only. You are able to view and visit with animals up until 4:30 p.m. each weekday.  All adoptable dogs and cats have been vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Although we take every precaution to ensure the health of our shelter animals, no guarantee of any kind can be given.

Is there any wonder that the bond which began more than 15,000 years ago still exists today? Dogs have an extraordinary affect on many aspects of the human condition. Their ability to act the clown, be non-judgmental, help us feel needed, offer unconditional love and trust, provide an ear to our troubles, and warm fuzzy fur to hold and stroke ensures them the well-deserved title of “man’s best friend.”
