Thompson Square uninjured in Colorado tour bus accident

AURORA, Colo. – Neither country duo Thompson Square – Miami, OK, native Keifer Thompson and his wife Shawna – nor the pair’s crew was injured in a crash on Interstate 70 involving at least two tour buses and two semi-trailers.

Thompson Square’s team posted this message this afternoon on the band’s official Facebook:

As many have already heard there was a major tour bus accident this morning in Colorado. Contrary to reports in the media our band and crew are all ok and injury free, and damage to our crew bus was minimal. There was another tour bus involved belonging to the rock band Twin Shadow who sadly were not so fortunate. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who were injured and their families. – T2Team

The Denver Post reports that a tour bus full of crew members for Brooklyn, N.Y.-based indie rock act Twin Shadow slammed into the back of a stopped semi-trailer on Interstate 70 early this morning in dense fog, injuring a dozen people, one of them seriously.

The Aurora crash set off a chain reaction that involved another tour bus carrying crew for Thompson Square and a second semi-trailer.

The Colorado State Patrol said the person seriously injured in the crash, 41-year-old John Crawford, was driving the Twin Shadow tour bus that initially sparked the wreck. Eleven others aboard that bus had minor to moderate injuries and were taken to Aurora hospitals, according to the Denver Post.

Twin Shadow’s show set for tonight at the Bluebird Theater in Denver has been canceled. Thompson Square is set to play tonight as planned at the National Western Complex Arena in Denver.
