The tradition is back!  Let’s ski, have fun & win prizes with Blitzenbanger 2015!  Join us for one of the oldest community-wide celebrations Aspen – Blitzenbanger – KSPN-FM’s Birthday Bash!  Once again, KSPN will celebrate their birthday with the Blitzenbanger Winter Brew-AU – a Beer Fest & Luau Party!! The event will be held in Aspen Highlands again this year.  This year Blitzenbanger will once again be even bigger with a beer fest & winter luau décor plus a kids area! This festival will bring locals and visitors alike to the base of Aspen Highlands for an on-mountain scavenger hunt starting at 9 a.m. (must have lift ticket or pass to participate), unlimited beer tastings from 15+ local & regional breweries, live music and fun!

Come out & ski or ride in the morning and participate in the Mr. Vac Cleaning & Restoration on-mountain scavenger hunt starting at 9 a.m. Find Mr. Vac Cleaning & Restoration  dust bunnies hidden on the mountain & bring them to the KSPN-FM tent to redeem your prize.  All lift tickets are sold separately by Aspen Ski Company.  Lift tickets are not included in any Blitzenbanger pricing.  Blitzenbanger tickets are solely for the beer tastings from 12-5 p.m. at the base of the mountain.

Schedule of Events:

  • 9:00 a.m. – KSPN’s Annual Blitzenbanger Scavenger Hunt begins brought to you by Mr. Vac Cleaning and Restoration
  • 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Blitzenbanger tickets on sale ($20 presale/$25 day of)
  • 12:00 p.m. –  Blitzenbanger Beer Festival begins
  • 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Karaoke on the Sapporo side stage
  • 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. – DJ on the Mr. Vac Cleaning & Restoration main stage
  • 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. – Birthday celebrations on the Mr. Vac Cleaning & Restoration main stage including hula hoop contest with Betty Hoops, adult limbo, musical chairs, & birthday cake
  • 3:00 – 5: 00 p.m. – Mr. J & the Smooth Expressions on the Mr. Vac Cleaning & Restoration main stage
  • 4:45 p.m. – Last call for unlimited tastings
  • 5:00 p.m. – Blizenbanger Beer Festival ends

Tickets: $20 each + processing fees includes commemorative tasting cup for unlimited beer tastings from 12-5 p.m. Tickets will go on sale Dec. 18th, 2014.  Prices will increase to $25 flat fee the day of the event.  All presale tickets include a commemorative Blitzenbanger trucker hat.  Tickets purchased through this site are for the Beer Tasting ONLY and do not include a lift ticket.

Blitzenbanger Beer Dinner: Kick off your Blitzenbanger weekend with the brand new four course beer pairing dinner at the Highlands Ale House on March 27th.  From 6-8 p.m., join Deschutes, Firestone Walker, & two other breweries as they pair craft beer with delicious food prepared by the Ale House chefs.  Tickets are $50 per ticket including taxes & gratuity.  All online tickets must be purchased online at March 27th at noon.  Tickets can also be purchased at the Highlands Ale House though day of.  Menu below:

Event Guidelines


Bring yourself & your crew along with ID and your ticket on your phone or printed!!
  • Can I bring my pet? - No, this is a no pet event
  • Can I bring a tent? - NO
  • Can I bring lawn chairs & blankets? - No
  • Is there seating? - Limited
  • Can I bring a cooler? - No
  • Can I bring a water bottle? - Yes, you can bring an empty water bottle for water refills
  • Can I come & go as I please? - Yes
  • Can I bring a bag? - Yes, but it will be subject to a search.
  • Can I bring a camelback or boda bag? - Yes, empty.  Breweries will not fill these items for you.
  • Are recording devices allowed (video cameras, digital cameras, phones)? - Yes

The following items are not permitted in Festival Area:
  • Outside Alcohol or other Beverages
  • Bottles, cans, growlers or non-event cups
  • Smoking – no smoking within the event premises
  • Marijuana - Smoking marijuana in public is against the law
  • Food and drink purchased outside
  • Coolers
  • Frisbees
  • Any noise making devices, specifically air horns with sirens, whistles
  • Fireworks
  • Illegal drugs and alcohol
  • Weapons and dangerous devices of any type
  • Guests found in possession of contraband items will be subject to expulsion from the facility and the contraband items confiscated.
  • NO GLASS other than Festival approved glasses


This Festival is committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. All guests shall remain respectful and courteous to their fellow patrons and to comply with requests from Festival staff regarding Festival policies, emergency response procedures and behavior which impacts the event experience of fellow spectators. The Festival values the support of all guests and reserves the right to eject any guests for any reason, including not treating other guests attending the Festival with dignity and respect.

  • What if there’s inclement weather?
If a situation occurs where there is an emergency weather situation (lightning, extreme wind or other acts of god), the Festival reserves the right to temporarily suspend event operations & find shelter for guests and vendors.  If the situation occurs that this weather occurs for longer than a “temporary” situation, the Festival organizers reserve the right to close down the event for the safety of patrons. An alternate discounted event attendance opportunity will be offered to ticket holders if this situation should occur prior to an hour before event end and not be able to reopen.  Weather situations are based on the discretion of event producers and local authorities. No refunds will be given.
  • What if I’ve lost my child?  
Please let your children know ahead of time that if they become lost, to go to the main event ticketing booth (the purple tent labeled KSPN) and tell one of the event staff or security. They can also find any event staff or security, or go into any store & the person they talk to will accompany them to the Ticketing area.  As soon as a ticketing person is assigned to your child, we’ll make announcements on stage until you’re reunited.
  • Is there a lost & found?
Yes at the ticketing booth. See policies below for specifics.
  • Will there be a medic on site?
Yes, there will be a blue medic (EMS) tent staffed throughout the day if you have any issues.
  • What do I do if I’ve had too much to drink?
Please let an event security or staff know if you feel you’ve had too much to drink & don’t have a sober way to leave the event. We will work with you to handle the situation as best we can. Ideally, we will find you a safe ride home, or to get you some food or water until you’re feeling better. All patrons who we help in this manner will need to be checked out of the event by EMS, Security & Event Manager.


  • Photography & Videography
The permitted use of cameras varies by event. Entrance onto event premises provides the Festival with your consent for the Festival to use event photographs and videos for promotional purposes.
  • Carry in and Contraband Items

  • Disorderly Conduct
Guests who fail to abide by Festival policies, state and federal law are subject to ejection from the facility. Guests in violation of Festival policy will be asked to correct their behavior, if they fail to do so in a timely fashion ejection will occur.
  • Overindulgence
The Festival and location maintains the right to question guests who appear to have overindulged.  We will work with you to handle the situation as best we can. Ideally, we will find you a safe ride home, or to get you some food or water until you’re feeling better. All patrons who are identified will need to be checked out of the event by EMS, Security & Event Manager.  We understand this is a beer festival, but we ask you to please drink responsibly and have a safe & sober way home.
  • Ejections
Disruptive and problem Guests should be reported to event staff or security personnel immediately. Ejected Guests must vacate Festival property.
  • Firearms / Weapons
Guests are prohibited from bringing weapons into the Festival.
  • Lost and Found
Items found before, during, or after an event should be turned into the main ticketing area. Items will then be turned into Radiate Live, logged in and kept at the office for 30 days. Items may be passed to the local authority, donated to charity or disposed of at the discretion of management after 30 days.
  • Panhandling / Soliciting
Panhandling is not allowed at the Festival. Only Festival Authorized Vendors and Sponsors will be permitted in the event area.
  • Projectiles
The throwing of projectiles inside the Event area is prohibited.


  • Paid Parking: HOV (four or more people) park for FREE in the main parking structure at the base of Aspen Highlands. Paid parking is enforced from 7:30 am to noon daily. No charge for vehicles arriving after noon, space available. Daily parking fee is $11 on week days and $22 on weekends and holidays. Highlands seasonal permits are $369 for the public and $319 for premier pass holders (also valid at Lots C, E and Two Creeks in Snowmass) and can be purchased from the parking attendant from 7:30 am until noon daily. Spaces are limited, permits do not guarantee a spot.
  • Bus Service:  Skier shuttles, Castle/Maroon and Maroon Creek Road buses provide continuous service from Rubey Park from 6:20 am to 2 am with increased frequency during peak times of 8 to 10:55 am and 2:30 to 4:30 pm. The Castle/Maroon bus is FREE and runs every 20 min. The free Maroon Creek Road shuttle runs every 30 minutes. Pick up a winter bus schedule for more details.
  • ASC Shuttle: A van runs from the designated Aspen Highlands parking lot at Buttermilk to Highlands beginning at 7 a.m. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes to 11:30 a.m. From 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. the shuttle runs every 30 minutes. Shuttle resumes every 15 minutes schedule at 2:30 p.m. at Aspen Highlands until the last run from Highlands to Buttermilk at 5:30 p.m. Pocket cards with times are available at the Highlands Guest Service desk.

NO PARKING ON MAROON CREEK ROAD. Vehicles will be towed.


  • RFTA provides transportation on a year-round basis. FREE buses operate between the city of Aspen and the Town of Snowmass Village. Fare buses transport passengers to other points in the Roaring Fork Valley, between Aspen and Rifle. Visit www.rfta.com for more information.
  • Additionally RFTA buses connect all four Aspen/Snowmass mountains during the winter season with higher frequency during peak times.
  • FROM SNOWMASS (times from Snowmass Village Mall) Snowmass to Aspen: every 15 minutes between 6:15 am and 7:30 pm Snowmass to Buttermilk: board any Aspen-bound bus and request a stop at Buttermilk Snowmass to Aspen Highlands: direct service at 9 and 10 am and via transfer at the roundabout throughout the day
  • FROM ASPEN (times from Rubey Park) Aspen to Snowmass Village Mall: every 15 minutes between 6:15 am and 7:30 pm Aspen to Buttermilk: board any Snowmass-bound bus and request a stop at Buttermilk; Buttermilk-direct buses will have continuous departures from 8 am to 4:30 pm Aspen to Aspen Highlands: Castle Maroon bus departs to Highlands every 20 minutes from 6:20 am to 2 am (:00, :20 and :40); continuous departures from 8 am to 4:30 pm
  • FROM ASPEN HIGHLANDS (times from base area) Aspen Highlands to Aspen: Castle Maroon Bus departs to Highlands every 20 minutes from 6:20 a.m. to 2 am (:00, :20 and :40); continuous departures from 8 to 10:55 am and 2:30 to 4:30 pm Aspen Highlands to Buttermilk: direct service via Aspen Highlands/Buttermilk shuttle service throughout  the day Aspen Highlands to Snowmass: direct service at 3:30 and 4:30 pm or via transfer throughout the day
  • FROM BUTTERMILK (times from base area) Buttermilk to Aspen: board any Aspen-bound bus from Highway 82; Aspen-Buttermilk direct has continuous departures from 8 am to 4:30 pm Buttermilk to Snowmass: direct service at 8:30 am, 9:10 am, 10:10 am, 11:10 am, 12:10 pm, 1:10 pm, 2:10 pm, 3:10 pm and 4:10 pm Buttermilk to Aspen Highlands: direct service via Aspen Highlands/Buttermilk shuttle service throughout  the day
  • VILLAGE SHUTTLE Village Shuttle is a FREE shuttle service to all multi-family residences and activity centers in Snowmass Village. Service from 6:45 am to 12:45 am. For areas within Snowmass not served by the shuttle, use the Dial-a-Ride Service.
  • DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICE For Snowmass Village visitors not served by the Village Shuttle service. Call 923-3030 to schedule service within Snowmass Village. (Give at least 30 minutes notice.) The cost is $1 per person and operates from 8 am to 9 pm.
  • LATE-NIGHT TRANSPORTATION SERVICE Need a late-night ride home in Snowmass? For service after the Shuttle stops running, “Late-Night Service” provided by High Mountain Taxi, will take you home from the Shuttle Depot from 1 to 2 am; the charge is $1 per person.
  • PARKING IN THE SNOWMASS VILLAGE MALL Parking in the lots adjacent to the Snowmass Village Mall area is by permit only. Guests can purchase weekly permits from their lodging company. Residents and employees must have permits. Parking is strictly enforced from the first day of the ski season to the last day of the season. Permits are not required in the summer and off-season.


We are currently working on lodging deals in Aspen for the Blitzenbanger Winter Brew-Au.  Please check back closer to the event date for more details.




  • Are there any gluten free beers or other alcohol options this year? - TBA
  • Can I purchase beer from the breweries at the Festival? - No. Colorado law does not allow purchasing 6-packs, growlers or others at this event. You cannot leave the designated event area with alcohol.
  • I just want to hang out – can I buy a full beer or drink at the event? - You can purchase a beer or drink in any of the restaurants & bars in the base area.
  • Will breweries run out of beer? - It’s possible they’ll run out of a certain kinds of brews, especially the most popular kinds, but beer will be available until the end of the event.
  • What else is there to do? - Live music, eat, shop, kids area, ski or ride, scavenger hunt, KSPN Birthday Cake Cutting, limbo contest.
  • Will there be free water available at the event? - Yes
  • Are there drinks other than beer? - Vendors will have sodas & water for sale. Restaurants will have wine & cocktails.
  • What food vendors will be there? TBA

  • Do you take credit cards or checks? - No checks. Cash on the day of the event only.  Credit cards day of & for pre-sale purchases online.
  • How much are tickets? - $20 pre-sale + processing fee & $25 day of
  • Should I purchase my tickets in advance or the day of the event? - We suggest purchasing in advance in case the event sells out.
  • What if I buy tickets & can’t attend? - You can transfer them to a friend (over 21). There are no refunds.
  • Is my registration/ticket transferrable? - Yes. Get help here.
  • The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay? - Yes.  Tickets can be purchased by one person for a group. Each person in that group will need a ticket & a photo ID the day of the event though.
  • Can I update my registration information? - Yes, on Eventbrite.com under your account info.
  • Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? - No, you can bring your phone and we can scan your tickets from your email confirmation. Or you can bring the printed ticket.
  • What is the refund policy? - No refunds will be offered.
