The Prince<\/a> estate has revealed a previously unreleased song titled \u201cDon\u2019t Let Him Fool Ya,\u201d one of two-dozen unearthed-from-the-vault tracks that appear on the upcoming reissue of Prince\u2019s 1999<\/a><\/em><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t Let Him Fool Ya\u201d is a classic funk work-up stylistically in the vein of 1999<\/em>; the song was recorded in the summer of 1982 \u2014 the later stretch of sessions that yielded 1999<\/em> \u2014 at Prince\u2019s Kiowa Trail home studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. <\/span><\/p>\n

With a home studio at his disposal, Prince was able to record whenever and whatever he wanted: On \u201cDon\u2019t Let Him Fool Ya,\u201d Prince plays keyboards, drums, guitars, bass and multilayered his own vocals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prince Estate previously shared an unreleased live version of \u201c1999\u201d<\/a> and the first studio take of \u201cInternational Lover\u201d<\/a> from the massive 1999<\/em> reissue, due out November 29th. In addition to the 1982 LP, the deluxe edition features 23 unreleased tracks and 1999<\/em> demoes culled from Prince\u2019s vault, a disc full of remixes and single edits, and a live recording of Prince\u2019s \u201clate show\u201d concert in Detroit on November 30th, 1982. An adjoining DVD on the Super Deluxe Edition features video of Prince\u2019s entire concert from the Houston Summit on December 29th, 1982.<\/span><\/p>\n

The accompanying book includes Prince\u2019s handwritten lyrics for \u201cLittle Red Corvette\u201d and other songs from that period, rare photos by Allen Beaulieu, images of the 1999<\/em> analog reels and liner notes by Rolling Stone\u2019s <\/i>David Fricke and Guns N\u2019 Roses bassist Duff McKagan.<\/span><\/p>\n
