The show took place the same day the band announced a massive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/black-crowes-2020-reunion-tour-dates-910124\/\">2020 reunion tour<\/a> to celebrate the 30th anniversary of <i>Shake Your Money Maker<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The show, like the LP, opened with \u201cTwice as Hard,\u201d and a fan-shot video captured the back-half of the tune, with frontman Chris Robinson and his brother, guitarist Rich Robinson, belting the song\u2019s hook in unison, \u201cTwice as hard\/As it was the first time\/ I said goodbye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/24F6-rrZ0VA?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Right after, the band swung through a rollicking rendition of \u201cJealous Again,\u201d with Robinson getting a hearty assist on vocals from the crowd during the bridge. And later, Rich Robinson broke out the acoustic guitar for a tender, yet rousing version of their ballad, \u201cShe Talks to Angels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CeiSW34OZTA?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/black-crowes-chris-rich-robinson-reunion-910453\/\">interview with <i>Rolling Stone<\/i><\/a>, Chris Robinson explained that the band was taking a back-to-basics approach to the reunion. \u201cI think this is pure,\u201d he said. \u201cWe went off into a lot of things. There\u2019s no jamming. There\u2019s no extraneous stuff. This is the purest Black Crowes that people first [heard] \u2026 I hope we reconnect with some people who lost their way with us because of all of our other shit we were doing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In that spirit, after running through all of <i>Shake Your Money Maker, t<\/i>he Black Crowes closed their first show back with a fittingly rambunctious cover of the Rolling Stones\u2019 \u201cIt\u2019s Only Rock \u2018n Roll (But I Like It).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hE5oani7ww8?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Black Crowes are set to play another small gig at the Troubadour in Los Angeles November 14th before launching their full tour next summer.
