{"id":973537,"date":"2019-11-14T19:47:35","date_gmt":"2019-11-15T02:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=913015"},"modified":"2019-11-14T19:47:35","modified_gmt":"2019-11-15T02:47:35","slug":"ali-shaheed-muhammad-adrian-younge-play-classy-club-in-harmony-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kfmu\/music-news\/ali-shaheed-muhammad-adrian-younge-play-classy-club-in-harmony-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Adrian Younge Play Classy Club in \u2018Harmony\u2019 Video"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Screen-Shot-2019-11-14-at-9.15.53-PM.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Midnight Hour, the 10-piece ensemble led by Adrian Younge and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/a-tribe-called-quest\/\" id=\"auto-tag_a-tribe-called-quest\" data-tag=\"a-tribe-called-quest\">A Tribe Called Quest<\/a>\u2019s Ali Shaheed Muhammad, perform at a classy jazz club in the band\u2019s \u201cHarmony\u201d video. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The clip opens with an enthusiastic emcee introducing the band at the \u201cAfter Midnight Club.\u201d Guest vocalist Loren Oden joins the band onstage, crooning over the band\u2019s sprawl of smooth bass, soulful keyboards, strings, harp and a nimble drum part that builds from a funky hi-hat groove to a rapid-fire double-time section. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Younge directed the visual, which they staged at his Linear Labs studio in Los Angeles. \u201cThe video represents the spirit of The Midnight Hour: A visceral feeling of expression in those late night moments that is difficult to define, but impossible to deny,\u201d he said in a statement. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Midnight Hour\u2019s second LP, due out in early 2020, will follow their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/a-tribe-called-quests-ali-shaheed-muhammad-adrian-younge-tease-new-album-with-questions-630623\/\">self-titled 2018 debut<\/a>.
