Hannibal Buress<\/a> fooled a crowd at the 2019 Adult Swim<\/a> Festival by impersonating MF Doom.<\/p>\n

During Flying Lotus<\/a>\u2019 set at Los Angeles event, the electronic producer appeared to bring MF Doom onstage to join for a few songs. \u201cI know y\u2019all know about my man MF DOOM, right?\u201d FlyLo said when the masked musician walked out.<\/p>\n

The comedian (as DOOM) began rapping to the 2004 Madvillain track \u201cAccordion\u201d with his metal mask on. But shortly thereafter, FlyLo returned to the stage and revealed that Buress was actually posing as Doom. \u201cHannibal, what are you doing here?\u201d he asked. \u201cI wanted to help out,\u201d Buress replied.<\/p>\n

FlyLo\u2019s set at this weekend\u2019s event wasn\u2019t the first time a DOOM imposter has appeared onstage \u2014 fans have long suspected DOOM has used stand-ins to perform in his place. When asked about that possibility, DOOM told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> in 2009, \u201cEverything that we do is villain style.\u201d<\/p>\n

DOOM\u2019s appearance at the Adult Swim Festival wouldn\u2019t have been too random since he and Danger Mouse created The Mouse and the Mask<\/em>, a 2005 album comprised of Adult Swim samples. Additionally, DOOM made music with the network for 2017\u2019s The Missing Notebook Rhymes<\/em><\/a>, which featured unreleased singles issued over 15 weeks. However, the network ended its relationship with DOOM<\/a> for undisclosed reasons.<\/p>\n
