The AMAs will take place this Sunday, November 24th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThe Big Machine Label Group and Dick Clark Productions announce that they have come to terms on a licensing agreement that approves their artists\u2019 performances to stream post show and for re-broadcast on mutually approved platforms. This includes the upcoming American Music Awards performances. It should be noted that recording artists do not need label approval for live performances on television or any other live media. Record label approval is only needed for contracted artists\u2019 audio and visual recordings and in determining how those works are distributed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representatives for Big Machine, Dick Clark Productions and Swift did not immediately return <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s request for comment. It\u2019s unclear which songs Swift will perform on Sunday\u2019s show.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- .l-article-content__pull--left --> <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The announcement comes one week after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/taylor-swift-big-machine-amas-912950\/\">Swift released a statement<\/a> on social media claiming that Big Machine Label Group\u2019s Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun had told her she\u2019s \u201cnot allowed to perform my old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I\u2019m allowed to next year.\u201d Swift said that Big Machine had specifically told her she couldn\u2019t use her old music in a Netflix documentary about her life, and in a career-spanning medley on the American Music Awards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In response, Big Machine Label Group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/big-machine-taylor-swift-ama-netflix-controversy-913176\/\">released a statement<\/a> saying, \u201cAt no point did we say Taylor could not perform on the AMAs or block her Netflix special. In fact, we do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere.\u201d A representative for Swift immediately hit back, saying Borchetta \u201cflatly denied the request for both American Music Awards and Netflix,\u201d adding, \u201cPlease notice in Big Machine\u2019s statement, they never actually deny either claim Taylor said last night in her post.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The dust-up over the Netflix doc and the AMAs marks the latest escalation in Swift\u2019s ongoing feud with Big Machine, which began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/taylor-swift-scooter-braun-big-machine-worst-case-scenario-853836\/\">earlier this year<\/a> when Braun \u2014 a longtime Swift nemesis \u2014 purchased Big Machine for $300 million and took control of the masters for her first six albums.
