{"id":973590,"date":"2019-11-18T22:04:02","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T05:04:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=914341"},"modified":"2019-11-18T22:04:02","modified_gmt":"2019-11-19T05:04:02","slug":"the-doobie-brothers-unite-with-michael-mcdonald-for-50th-anniversary-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kfmu\/music-news\/the-doobie-brothers-unite-with-michael-mcdonald-for-50th-anniversary-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"The Doobie Brothers Unite With Michael McDonald for 50th Anniversary Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/GettyImages-1188537143.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/doobie-brothers\/\" id=\"auto-tag_doobie-brothers\" data-tag=\"doobie-brothers\">Doobie Brothers<\/a> will unite with former frontman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/michael-mcdonald\/\" id=\"auto-tag_michael-mcdonald\" data-tag=\"michael-mcdonald\">Michael McDonald<\/a> for a 2020 North American tour celebrating the band\u2019s 50th anniversary. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Singer-guitarists Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons, singer-keyboardist McDonald, and multi-instrumentalist John McFee will tour together for the first time in nearly 25 years during the trek, which kicks off June 9th in West Palm Beach, Florida, and concludes October 10th in Houston, Texas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Doobie Brothers announced the 30-date jaunt while closing out their November 18th concert in Nashville, which featured full-LP performances of 1972\u2019s <em>Toulouse Street<\/em> and 1973\u2019s <em>The Captain and Me<\/em>.
