Alicia Keys<\/a> and her squad don roller skates and hit the rink in her new \u201cTime Machine\u201d video, which features a cameo from Tierra Whack<\/a>. The track is slated for Keys\u2019 as-yet-untitled seventh studio album.<\/p>\n

Directed by Art Johnson and Keys\u2019 brother Cole Cook, the visual was filmed at Los Angeles\u2019 World on Wheels. The singer stars as a daydreaming rink worker, who skates and sings along to her upbeat tune alongside her friends. At the end of the clip, Keys is caught lost in her own thoughts as Whack brings her back to reality.<\/p>\n

While the title hints at nostalgia, the song\u2019s lyrics focus on letting go of hang-ups and finding freedom. \u201cNo we can\u2019t rewind\/Life ain\u2019t no time machine,\u201d Keys sings on the chorus. \u201cBut once you free your mind\/There is beauty in everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song\u2019s funky sway signifies a departure from Keys\u2019 hallmark ballads. \u201cIt feels like a skating song to me,\u201d the singer told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. <\/em>\u201cLike after you\u2019ve gone around a few times, and you finally get your legs and you\u2019re free and you\u2019re just able to be completely be yourself\u2026 not worried about \u2018Am I gonna fall? Am I gonna trip? Is someone going to bump into me?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTime Machine\u201d follows her recently released \u201cShow Me Love<\/a>\u201d single featuring Miguel, which they performed along with \u201cCalma\u201d alongside Pedro Cap\u00f3 and Farruko<\/a> at the Latin Grammys last week. Keys will host the Grammys<\/a> for the second year in a row on January 26th.<\/p>\n
