He\u2019ll take listeners through his traumatic teenage years, when he admitted himself into a Massachusetts psychiatric hospital in 1965. He\u2019ll also recall releasing his self-titled debut album off Apple (he was the first American artist to be signed on the Beatle\u2019s label) and his steady rise to fame with 1970\u2019s <em>Sweet Baby James.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The memoir will be recorded at TheBarn, Taylor\u2019s home studio in Western Massachusetts. The interviews will be conducted by long-time music journalist and former MTV executive Bill Flanagan. \u201cI\u2019ve known Bill Flanagan and admired his writing forever,\u201d Taylor said in a statement. \u201cSo I was happy and relieved that he had agreed to help me gather my thoughts and edit this autobiography of my beginnings, the on-ramp to the road I\u2019ve traveled ever since.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA pitcher needs a catcher and a funny and intelligent collaborator can make you seem likewise,\u201d Taylor continued. \u201cTo the best of my recollection, I never had much of a memory; but here\u2019s how I remember it\u2026Did I say that already?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Taylor is scheduled to appear at Sting\u2019s upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/sting-springsteen-james-taylor-rainforest-fund-benefit-lineup-2019-903087\/\">Rainforest Benefit Concert<\/a>, held on December 9th at New York\u2019s Beacon Theater.
