Fresh off her league-leading eight Grammy nominations<\/a>, Lizzo<\/a> capped off a triumphant year at the 2019 American Music Awards<\/a>, delivering a passionate version of her waltzing ballad <\/span>\u201cJerome.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThis light represents the love that you have for yourself. So shine bright,\u201d the singer told the audience, instructing the crowd to pool the collective glow from their cellphone screens. <\/span>Clad in a frilly dress, Lizzo showcased her full vocal range on the track \u2014 building from growls and screeches to cinematic falsetto leaps. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the 2019 American Music Awards, Lizzo is up for Best New Artist, Best Soul\/R&B Song (\u201cJuice\u201d) and Best Female Artist Soul\/R&B. Earlier in the week, she racked up eight Grammy nominations<\/a>, including nods in all of the Big Four categories: Album of the Year (Cuz I Love You [Deluxe]<\/em>), Record of the Year and Song of the Year (\u201cTruth Hurts\u201d) and Best New Artist<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTruth Hurts\u201d is also up for Best Pop Solo Performance, with two more Cuz I Love You<\/em> tracks nominated in the Best R&B Performance (\u201cExactly How I Feel\u201d) and Best Traditional R&B Performance (\u201cJerome\u201d). Cuz I Love You (Deluxe)<\/em> is also among the Best Urban Contemporary Album nominees.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lizzo will return to network television on December 21st when she serves as Saturday Night Live<\/em>\u2019s musical guest<\/a> for Eddie Murphy\u2019s much-anticipated return.<\/span><\/p>\n
