Halsey<\/a> took a \u201cless is more\u201d approach with her colorful version of \u201cGraveyard<\/a>\u201d at the 2019 American Music Awards<\/a> on Sunday. The singer busted out a captivating performance using only paint, a white stage, a table, a fellow dancer and some simple, intimate choreography.<\/p>\n

The vocalist and her doppelg\u00e4nger-dancer ran in place, sprawled out on the table and smeared each other in pink, blue, red and yellow hues in a kind of intimate mirror-dance. By the end of the electro-pop single \u2014 which appears on her upcoming album Manic \u2014<\/em> the entire stage was a paint-covered mess. <\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cNightmare<\/a>\u201d singer previously took home two AMAs for Favorite Pop\/Rock Song and Collaboration of the Year with The Chainsmokers for their 2016 hit collaboration \u201cCloser<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Halsey is nominated for one of the biggest awards of the night, Artist of the Year, alongside Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Post Malone and Drake. Her 2018 single \u201cWithout Me<\/a>\u201d is nominated for Favorite Pop\/Rock Song and its video is nominated for Favorite Music Video.<\/p>\n

Ahead of Manic<\/em>\u2018s release on January 17th, Halsey shared singles \u201cGraveyard\u201d and \u201cClementine<\/a>\u201d in September, along with standalone track \u201cNightmare\u201d in May.<\/p>\n

Halsey previously revealed in Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>\u2018s June cover story that her forthcoming LP is the first one she\u2019s ever penned while manic. She described the album as a mix of \u201chip-hop, rock, country, fucking everything \u2014 because it\u2019s so manic. It\u2019s soooooo manic. It\u2019s literally just, like, whatever the fuck I felt like making; there was no reason I couldn\u2019t make it.\u201d<\/p>\n
