From him I learned about the emotional qualities of light, about telling stories with a camera, about artistic intuition, collaboration, and integrity,\u201d Jarmusch said in a statement. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe worked together on the films&nbsp;<em>Down by Law<\/em>, M<em>ystery Train<\/em>, <em>Dead Man<\/em>, parts of&nbsp;<em>Coffee and Cigarettes<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai<\/em>.&nbsp;We spent time together in many interesting places in the world, and became parts of each other\u2019s families. Honestly, I can\u2019t even begin express all that I learned from Robby, the joy I had just being with him, or the depth of my respect for him as a compassionate, energetic and rebellious human being. The duo recorded the album in New York with \u201can unusual vintage Japanese electric guitar from the wonderful Brooklyn\u2013based Dutch luthier, Flip Scipio.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"pmc-contextual-player\">\n<h3> Popular on Rolling Stone <\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe used it for all the guitar parts, its tonal qualities also somehow channeling the spirit of Robby,\u201d Jarmusch said. \u201cRobby liked formal purity and focus but he also embraced imperfection, accidents and experimentation. He was well aware that contradictions can and should become strengths.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Jarmusch continued, \u201cAs Sq\u00fcrl approached creating music for Claire\u2019s film, we attempted to be guided by the beautiful and illuminated elements of Robby\u2019s spirit.
