Sharon Van Etten<\/a> has released a cover of Christmas song \u201cSilent Night.\u201d The singer\u2019s take on the holiday classic was originally recorded for Eric Paschal Johnson\u2019s short film The Letter<\/em> and has a moody, introspective vibe. Van Etten recently appeared in an Amazon Music documentary<\/a>, Departure,<\/i> which captured the singer leaving New York City, her home of 15 years. The film captures Van Etten\u2019s final days in the city, where she played her last performance as a New Yorker at Webster Hall on May 4th, before moving to Los Angeles. \u201cYou don\u2019t have to hate New York to leave it,\u201d she told Rolling Stone<\/em> of the documentary. \u201cIt will always be there, it will always be changing. I\u2019ll go back. It might be more of a see later and not so much of a goodbye.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musician\u2019s most recent album, Remind Me Tomorrow<\/a>, <\/em>dropped in January. She has since collaborated with Jeff Goldblum on his second album, I<\/em> Shouldn\u2019t Be Telling You This, <\/i>providing vocals for a jazz-inspired version of Irving Berlin\u2019s \u201cLet\u2019s Face The Music And Dance.\u201d<\/a> The pair performed the track<\/a> on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em> last month.<\/p>\n
