Huey Lewis and the News<\/a> unveiled a new song, \u201cWhile We\u2019re Young,\u201d from their first album of all new music in 19 years, Weather<\/i>, out February 14th, 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile We\u2019re Young\u201d is a plucky pop rock tune with supple guitars and bright horns fluttering over a tight drum and bass groove. Lewis is as wry and witty as ever on vocals as he sings about turning back the clock, while still properly acknowledging the limits of one\u2019s age: \u201cWe\u2019ll take a nap in the afternoon\/That\u2019s just part of the fun\/So much of youth is wasted on the young\/Watch your tongue\u2026 Tell the kids we\u2019ll be late\/And we\u2019ll need to recuperate!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile We\u2019re Young\u201d follows Huey Lewis and the News\u2019 previous single, \u201cHer Love Is Killin\u2019 Me,\u201d<\/a> which was released in September and marked the band\u2019s first new song in more than 10 years. Huey Lewis and the News announced their return<\/a> in January after inking a deal with BMG for Weather<\/i>, their first LP of original songs since 2001\u2019s Plan B<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Huey Lewis and the News recorded Weather<\/i> at their Troutfarm Studio in Marin County, outside of San Francisco. The sessions however were ultimately cut short when Lewis was diagnosed with M\u00e9ni\u00e8re\u2019s disease<\/a>, an ear condition that also forced the band to cancel<\/a> a slew of tour dates and has kept Huey Lewis and the News off the road since.<\/p>\n

Despite the diagnosis, Lewis has remained positive, saying in a press release, \u201cYou\u2019ve got to look on the bright side and stay creative. Even if I never sing again, things could always be worse. After all, I\u2019m deaf, not dead.\u201d<\/p>\n
