Taylor Swift<\/a> is scheduled to drop a holiday song, \u201cChristmas<\/a> Tree Farm,\u201d at midnight Thursday. But her cats aren\u2019t as excited about the news as she is.<\/p>\n

In an iPhone video posted to Twitter, Swift announces to her fans that she\u2019s \u201cjust written\u201d a Christmas song, and that she doesn\u2019t want to wait a whole year to release it. \u201cI don\u2019t know what to do,\u201d she says. So she does what any reasonable pop star would do: she consults her three designer-breed cats on whether or not she should release the song.<\/p>\n

When in doubt, ask the itty bitty pretty kitty committee. When they shun you with silence, ambivalence, and judgmental brush offs\u2026 just put the song out anyway. The bad news for Taylor is that Meredith, Olivia and Benjamin (who\u2019s grown from a tiny kitten into a fluffy monster of a cat!) are way more interested in sleeping, grooming and tackling each other than in her Christmas song. I guess that\u2019s to be expected from creatures who don\u2019t have the opposable thumbs to open presents or press \u201cplay\u201d on Spotify.<\/p>\n

Swift grew up on a Christmas tree farm<\/a>, so it seems like the song could have a personal touch.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, it was announced that Swift\u2019s Netflix documentary Miss Americana<\/em><\/a> will be premiering at Sundance. She also stars in the film adaptation of Cats<\/em>, out December 20th, and wrote several songs for the film alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber, including \u201cBeautiful Ghosts.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
