Makes NO sense!! That\u2019s my song and I\u2019m still alive. Show me some respect!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Love posted her note Wednesday evening, around the same time <em>Christmas in Rockefeller Center<\/em> was airing live on NBC from New York City. Skylar Astin and Alex Newell \u2014 two stars of an upcoming NBC show, <i>Zoey\u2019s Extraordinary Playlist \u2014<\/i>&nbsp;sang \u201cChristmas (Baby Please Come Home)\u201d during the show.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1L4343tYB6s?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Love said her publicist has been trying to book her at the tree lighting ceremony for 10 years, but claimed the producers have repeatedly told her she\u2019s \u201cnot their demo or big enough.\u201d She added that Brad Lachman Productions allegedly said they would only book Love if someone like Bette Midler or Bruce Springsteen joined her, but Love said she would \u201cnever ask my friends to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A representative for Brad Lachman Productions did not immediately return <i>Rolling Stone<\/i>\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pmc-contextual-player\">\n<h3> Popular on Rolling Stone <\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p> <!-- .l-article-content__pull--left --> <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThis business can be so unfair at times,\u201d Love said. \u201cDon\u2019t get me wrong, I\u2019m TRULY blessed for what I have accomplished at 78 years of age but it\u2019s still a constant struggle to stay relevant and convince those who control the industry that I\u2019m worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Love released \u201cChristmas (Baby Please Come Home)\u201d in 1963, and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=L-8ZERV_D_Q\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">1986 she started<\/a> an annual tradition of performing the song on <i>The Late Show With David Letterman<\/i>. Love would go on to perform the song each year for the next 28 years, until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/watch-darlene-loves-final-christmas-baby-please-come-home-on-letterman-238735\/\">Letterman left <i>The Late Show <\/i>in 2014<\/a>. It\u2019s worth noting that&nbsp;<em>The Late Show&nbsp;<\/em>airs on CBS, while&nbsp;<em>Christmas in Rockefeller Center<\/em> is an annual tradition on one of its direct competitors, NBC.
