Def Leppard<\/a>, M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce and Poison<\/a> came together at SiriusXM\u2019s Los Angeles headquarters last week to announce The Stadium Tour,<\/em><\/a> which will take them all across North America in the summer of 2020.<\/p>\n

It was a rare union of three of the most popular groups from the Eighties hard rock scene, and Def Leppard have posted a video taking fans behind the scenes of the summit.<\/p>\n

It begins with Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott arriving at the press conference in the middle of a rainstorm. \u201cI left Dublin, 53 degrees, blue sky,\u201d he says to the camera. \u201cHello everyone. I\u2019m in Los Angeles and it\u2019s fucking pissing it down.\u201d<\/p>\n

You then see the rest of the band show up to a photoshoot with the guys in M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce and Poison (opening act Joan Jett was oddly absent) and catch up with one another. The event happened to come just a few days before the Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen turned 62, and the video captures members of the band\u2019s team giving him cupcakes and singing \u201cHappy Birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally, the news is out,\u201d Leppard bassist Rick Savage says to the camera. \u201cIt\u2019s been difficult trying to sit on this for the last few few weeks, months, whenever. But yes, we\u2019re here to launch the summer tour, The Stadium Tour with Joan Jett, Poison and M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce. [We\u2019re] really, really excited about the whole thing. I\u2019m just so pleased that now the news is officially out. It\u2019ll be the summer tour to end all summer tours.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same day, Elliott phoned up Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> and spoke about M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce\u2019s decision to dissolve their supposed \u201ccessation of touring agreement\u201d and hit the road again. \u201cI told Nikki that when he signed it, \u2018You guys are just Bowie, Sinatra, Cher, all rolled into one,’\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s theater. And those guys are theatrical. Contracts are there to be torn up. That\u2019s what they are. People break them all the time in sports. Why can\u2019t you break one in music?\u201d<\/p>\n
