Def Leppard<\/a>, M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce and Poison<\/a> have added seven dates to the rockers\u2019 2020 stadium mega-tour<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new slate of dates take place before the tour\u2019s previously announced starting point of July 7th in Miami, with the bands now opening their much-anticipated trek on June 21st at San Antonio, Texas, June 21st. The newly announced gigs also add Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Cincinnati and Cleveland to the trek\u2019s sold-out itinerary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Def Leppard\u2019s Joe Elliott said of the new dates in a statement: \u201cThe word on the street was that fans were overly excited about this stadium tour even before it was announced \u2026 well it\u2019s out there now & it keeps getting bigger & bigger\u2026 this is going to be a MONSTER of a tour!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce bassist Nikki Sixx added: \u201cLittle did we know that making The Dirt<\/em> movie would lead us to this exciting new place touring stadiums with our friends in Def Leppard. We are beyond excited for this tour to begin.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Tickets for the new run of shows \u2014 which will also feature Joan Jett and the Blackhearts \u2014 go on sale starting January 6th.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rolling Stone<\/em> recently spoke to Elliott<\/a> about how the tour came together and its ambitious plan to fill stadiums. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo be in stadiums, you really need to pair up. We\u2019re trying to turn these shows into a mini-festival,\u201d Elliott said. \u201cWhen you think about Joan Jett opening up the night, and then Poison going on and then us and M\u00f6tley following them, it\u2019s an event. It really is. And we\u2019re all from the same genre. Most people that like that kind of thing saw us day after day on MTV in the Eighties. Our journeys have gone in different directions since then, but synchronicity pulls us back together once again. It\u2019s a celebration of that whole kind of vibe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
