The new cover, released as \u201cFor Real \u2014 For Tom,\u201d finds the Nelsons, Harrison, Dylan and Lee cranking up the jangle of the original while also giving the tune a breezy country sway complete with harmonica and some soothing choral vocals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWhen I first was sent this song asking if I wanted to record it, I was quite frankly dumbfounded,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/lukas-nelson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lukas-nelson\" data-tag=\"lukas-nelson\">Lukas Nelson<\/a> tells <i>Rolling Stone<\/i>. \u201cIt was the whole manifesto of our band [Promise of the Real] in a song. It just shows how connected artists who have integrity are with others who share the same passion and fire for being honest with their soul. Fearless and real.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Micah Nelson expounded on the meaning of the song, calling it \u201can anthem to the integrity of an artist\u2019s journey summarized perfectly by the artist himself. It\u2019s a reminder of why we live the art life, something needed more than ever as we enter a new decade of unknown misty twisty paths and crooked highways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- .l-article-content__pull--left --> <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Accompanying the new song is a behind-the-scenes documentary about the recording of \u201cFor Real \u2014 For Tom,\u201d which was directed by Peter Harding.
