But that doesn\u2019t necessarily mean they\u2019ll release it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thought, kind of playing on the newfound spirit of collaboration that scoring has forced us into, seeing what happens when we mix our DNA with some other people, with a no pressure environment. Let\u2019s see what happens,\u201d Reznor recently told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.revolvermag.com\/music\/nine-inch-nails-9-things-we-learned-our-visit-trent-reznors-studio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Revolver<\/a><\/em>. \u201cIf something good happens, then maybe the world can hear it. But if it doesn\u2019t, we put it in the pile with the others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even if Nine Inch Nails doesn\u2019t release new music, though, Reznor said the band will hit the road again soon. \u201cWe\u2019re talking about doing some shows next year, maybe,\u201d he said. \u201cProbably in the last half of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, in the <em>Revolver <\/em>interview, Reznor discussed the impact Lil Nas X\u2019s \u201cOld Town Road\u201d \u2014 which includes a sample of Nine Inch Nails\u2019 \u201c34 Ghosts IV\u201d in it \u2014 has had on his life personally. \u201cThat one stuck in for quite some time, and now it\u2019s made its way to where my kids are [playing] <em>Just Dance 2020<\/em> and they\u2019re performing aerobic workouts to \u2018Old Town Road (Remix),&#8217;\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Reznor told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/trent-reznor-old-town-road-903889\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a> <\/em>that he didn\u2019t want to get in the way of the success of \u201cOld Town Road,\u201d even though hearing his music in a country-rap song felt alien to him.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pmc-contextual-player\">\n<h3> Popular on Rolling Stone <\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cYou feel a little bit violated, you know?\u201d he said with a laugh, comparing it to when Johnny Cash covered \u201cHurt.\u201d \u201cAnd then you get over that, and you realize it has become something else, and the Johnny Cash thing is incredible. It\u2019s very flattering.
