Penguin imprint Jonathan Cape scored the rights back in 2017 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/This-Book-Song-Jarvis-Cocker\/dp\/1787330567\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon<\/a> has now confirmed the release for later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Cocker, who previously published lyric collection <em>Mother Brother Lover<\/em> in 2011, sold the book during a bidding war with several publishers and has been working on it since.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this unique and important book, Jarvis will be exploring the subject of creativity and how to quietly make amazing things happen in a world of noise,\u201d Jonathan Cape Publishing Director Michal Shavit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguin.co.uk\/articles\/company\/news\/2017\/march\/jonathan-cape-acquires-jarvis-cocker-s--this-book-is-a-song--in-.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">said in 2017<\/a>. \u201cWhether it is from the stage, over the airwaves and now in print, he never fails to be interesting and brilliantly real. We\u2019re thrilled to be part of this project and can\u2019t wait for him to show us the path to everyday inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Cocker dropped new version of his 2006 song <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/jarvis-cocker-new-version-running-the-world-christmas-number-one-929512\/\">\u201cRunning the World,\u201d<\/a> which he released around the U.K. general election. \u201cSo here\u2019s the story: about a month ago the Kaiser Quartett sent me a recording of their arrangement of \u2018Running the World\u2019 and asked if I\u2019d consider singing on it,\u201d Cocker said in a statement. \u201cSo I did.
