{"id":974307,"date":"2020-01-08T08:00:23","date_gmt":"2020-01-08T15:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=934968"},"modified":"2020-01-08T08:00:23","modified_gmt":"2020-01-08T15:00:23","slug":"bad-religion-detail-new-autobiography-do-what-you-want","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kfmu\/music-news\/bad-religion-detail-new-autobiography-do-what-you-want\/","title":{"rendered":"Bad Religion Detail New Autobiography \u2018Do What You Want\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/shutterstock_editorial_10362266a.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">Los Angeles punk stalwarts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bad-religion\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bad-religion\" data-tag=\"bad-religion\">Bad Religion<\/a> will publish their autobiography, <i>Do What You Want: The Story of Bad Religion<\/i>, August 18th to coincide with their 40th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The book is described as a \u201chybrid oral history\/narrative\u201d and was written by frontman Greg Graffin, founding members Brett Gurewitz and Jay Bentley, and long-time guitarist Brian Baker, with help from music journalist Jim Ruland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Do What You Want<\/i> will chronicle Bad Religion\u2019s 40-year career, \u201cfrom their beginnings as teenagers experimenting in a San Fernando Valley garage dubbed \u2018The Hell Hole\u2019 to headlining major music festivals around the world.\u201d The book will also include rare photos, never-before-seen material from the band\u2019s archives, plus new interviews with former members of Bad Religion and famous friends.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Along with releasing <i>Do What You Want, <\/i>Bad Religion will mark their 40th anniversary with a co-headlining <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bad-religion-alkaline-trio-plot-co-headlining-tour-925405\/\">North American tour<\/a> this spring with Alkaline Trio.
