Brown and finds the band performing the song while bathed in red light as smoke hovers around them. The clip is interspersed with some footage from the video game <i>Gears of War 5<\/i> \u2014 for which the cover was recorded \u2014 as well as some sprawling desert scenes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revolvermag.com\/music\/see-evanescences-new-post-apocalyptic-video-chain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><i>Revolver <\/i><\/a>noted, the video closes with a shot of drummer Will Hunt\u2019s drum kit on fire, ostensibly a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revolvermag.com\/music\/knotfest-mexico-canceled-after-barricade-breaks-fans-storm-stage-destroy-equipment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">reference to the rioting<\/a> prevented Evanescence from performing at Slipknot\u2019s Knotfest stop in Mexico last December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201c\u2019The Chain\u2019 music video is out now,\u201d Evanescence wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/evanescence\/status\/1215275220161847298\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Twitter<\/a>. \u201cFun with smoke bombs in a post-apocalyptic world as we walk through the fire together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Evanescence <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/evanescence-fleetwood-mac-the-chain-916705\/\">released their cover of \u201cThe Chain\u201d<\/a> last November, marking their first new rock recording in eight years. They\u2019re currently working on new music, which will arrive later on in 2020. The band previously released their symphonic music album, <i>Synthesis<\/i>, in 2017.
