Mac Miller<\/a>\u2019s family has unveiled the new video for \u201cGood News,\u201d the first single from the late rapper\u2019s upcoming posthumous album, Circles<\/a>.<\/em> The album arrives on January 17th and is available for pre-order<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The nearly seven-minute-long clip is bookended with scenes of a smiling Mac Miller in the studio. In between, an animated journey takes place. Directed by Anthony Gaddis and Eric Tilford, the late rapper is seen floating on a flower as well as traveling through otherworldly locales.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood news, good news, good news\/That\u2019s all they wanna hear,\u201d Miller sings on the contemplative chorus. \u201cNo, they don\u2019t like it when I\u2019m down\/But when I\u2019m flying, oh, it make \u2019em so uncomfortable\/So different, what\u2019s the difference?\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement<\/a>, Miller\u2019s family said the rapper had been working with producer Jon Brion on Circles<\/em> before his death in 2018<\/a>. It was intended to be a companion to Swimming<\/a>, <\/em>which also features contributions from Brion.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter his passing, Jon dedicated himself to finishing Circles<\/i> based on his time and conversations with Malcolm,\u201d Miller\u2019s family wrote. \u201cWe are so grateful to Jon and to those who gave their best to the difficult and emotional task of putting out this body of work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family continued, \u201cThis is a complicated process that has no right answer. No clear path. We simply know that it was important to Malcolm for the world to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n
