Following her hospital recovery, she took an extended hiatus and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/demi-lovato-cancels-remainder-of-tell-me-you-love-me-fall-tour-709678\/https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/demi-lovato-cancels-remainder-of-tell-me-you-love-me-fall-tour-709678\/\">canceled<\/a> the remainder of her <em>Tell Me You Love Me<\/em> tour, writing in a statement at the time that she was taking \u201ctime to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The following December, Lovato resurfaced on Twitter, writing that she was \u201csober and grateful to be alive,\u201d and expressing disgust at tabloid coverage of her overdose.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don\u2019t believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening,\u201d Lovato&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ddlovato\/status\/1076301538522329091\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">tweeted<\/a>. \u201cIf I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them MYSELF. Otherwise people stop writing about my recovery, because it\u2019s no one\u2019s business but mine. I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last May, Lovato revealed that she had <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2019\/music\/news\/demi-lovato-signs-scooter-braun-manager-1203212073\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed<\/a> with a new manager, Scooter Braun, and in August announced that she had been cast in both the Netflix film <em>Eurovision<\/em> and in the television series <em>Will &amp; Grace,<\/em> as a guest star.
