We will all miss him and all that he gave to the Left Banke,\u201d the page reads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Caro \u2014 who initially performed under the name Steve Martin before adding the \u201cCaro\u201d in the Seventies to differentiate himself from the comedian \u2014 is best known as the vocalist on the Left Banke\u2019s \u201cWalk Away Renee,\u201d a Top Five hit in 1966 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-lists\/500-greatest-songs-of-all-time-151127\/the-left-banke-walk-away-renee-49558\/\">Number 222 on <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6uqBTzfcIk4?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWalk Away Renee,\u201d which the Four Tops also turned into a hit, was later credited as the main inspiration for Boston\u2019s Tom Scholz when he wrote that band\u2019s hit \u201cMore Than a Feeling.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <!-- .l-article-content__pull--left --> <\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Left Banke followed \u201cWalk Away Renee\u201d with another Top 20 hit, \u201cPretty Ballerina,\u201d later that year.
