In the lead-up to the streaming release of Frozen<\/a> 2<\/em>, Disney has shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip of Panic! at the Disco<\/a> frontman Brendon Urie filming the music video<\/a> for the movie\u2019s Oscar-nominated anthem, \u201cInto the Unknown.\u201d<\/p>\n

The animation juggernaut Frozen 2<\/em><\/a> is now available on digital streaming platforms and will be out on Blu-Ray next Tuesday, February 25th \u2014 after beating out the record set by the original Frozen<\/em> and becoming the second-highest-grossing animated film of all time at the box office.<\/p>\n

Much like \u201cLet It Go,\u201d \u201cInto the Unknown\u201d is sung by Idina Menzel\u2019s Elsa in the movie, and is the type of song that is sure to be belted out by 5-year-olds over and over again for months to come. In the clip, Urie says he immediately recognized the song\u2019s charms.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love everything about this song,\u201d he says. \u201cMy favorite thing about it, though, is just that soaring chorus. I can\u2019t get enough of it. Every time it breaks into the chorus, I get chills. I\u2019m getting chills just talking about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Urie was asked to contribute a version of \u201cInto the Unknown\u201d for the film\u2019s soundtrack, and he quickly took up the offer. \u201cI thought, \u2018If I have any chance at all to sing this, yes, I\u2019m going to take that opportunity, right now.’\u201d<\/p>\n

In the video, the interview is intercut with production footage of Urie\u2019s \u201cInto the Unknown\u201d visual, in which the artist passionately performs the song alone onstage at the Million Dollar Theater, a vintage Los Angeles movie palace.<\/p>\n

In explaining his connection to the song, Urie noted: \u201cIt\u2019s this point in the story where Elsa\u2019s hearing this voice in her head and she isn\u2019t sure where it\u2019s coming from. She has to come to terms with if she wants to pursue this thing or just ignore it completely and live her life. I\u2019ve definitely been in that place before \u2014 do I go pursue this amazing curiosity that terrifies me to no end or do I just sit comfortably and rest on my laurels?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cInto the Unknown\u201d was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2020 Oscars<\/a> earlier this year. Menzel performed the number at the ceremony, alongside other Elsa voice actresses from countries around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a long-time Disney fan, to have sung a song and be featured on a film that is so beautiful,\u201d Urie says. \u201cI\u2019m just so incredibly and completely honored, and privileged, to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n
