As part of his Late Late Show<\/em> takeover this week, Niall Horan<\/a> participated in an episode of \u201cCarpool Karaoke\u201d with host James Corden and things took an interesting turn.<\/p>\n

After singing Horan\u2019s track \u201cSlow Hands\u201d together in the car, Corden asks about the singer\u2019s fears. His first: claustrophobia. And then: \u201cI hate birds,\u201d Horan confirms. \u201cI\u2019d say mostly pigeons. Like, I do enjoy a good walk in the park but the minute pigeons come into it\u2026\u201d He adds, \u201cI think they\u2019re horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

To remedy this Corden decides it\u2019s time for Horan to face his fear and meet some pigeons. The pair goes to a park, where a handler brings them a single pigeon, who is named Ted. \u201cNow just relax,\u201d Corden says. Horan does hold the pigeon, but begins to freak out when more pigeons arrive. Corden then leaves him in the middle of the park covered in pigeons. \u201cJames, I swear this has just made my phobia worse,\u201d the singer says.<\/p>\n

Finally, they get back in the car where the duo sings a few more of Horan\u2019s tracks from his new album Heartbreak Weather, <\/em>including \u201cNice to Meet Ya,\u201d<\/a> which is apparently a head banger. They also discuss his career in One Direction<\/a> and what it\u2019s been like to look back on the band\u2019s massive success. The pair concludes the episode by testing their 10-year friendship with a lie detector test, which leads Horan to admit that Corden\u2019s show is not his favorite to perform on (it\u2019s Saturday Night Live<\/em>).<\/p>\n

During the late night show, Horan also performed his acoustic song \u201cBlack and White,\u201d his fourth live performance on The Late Late Show<\/em> this week.<\/p>\n
