Rising rapper and singer the Last Artful, Dodgr delivered a boisterous performance both inside and outside her house in the latest installment of Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s In My Room<\/a><\/em>, a series in which artists perform from home while in quarantine.<\/p>\n

Dodgr opened her set in the backyard, crafting a cozy vibe with an arrangement of plants, succulents and candles around her laptop, microphone and mixing board. She opened her set with solo take on \u201cTruth,\u201d her collaboration with Mark Ronson and Alicia Keys, which appeared on the former\u2019s 2019 album, Late Night Feelings<\/em>. She then followed that up with some slow jam spitting on \u201cHot,\u201d a track that garnered the deadpan introduction, \u201cThis one\u2019s one of my favorite songs I\u2019ve ever written about being dumped \u2014 it happens to the best of us. Mostly me.\u201d<\/p>\n

As \u201cHot\u201d drew to a close, Dodgr took the opportunity to speak on the difficulties of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, saying, \u201cThis song\u2019s really hard to sing right now, and I definitely want to give my love and condolences to everyone who\u2019s suffering right now. This is a time that\u2019s completely unprecedented, and just keep your heads up, your minds clear, your stomachs full if you can.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the rest of her set, Dodgr had to relocate indoors, joking, \u201cThe dogs couldn\u2019t stand me apparently \u2014 I was singing on their level.\u201d She then jumped into a rendition of her latest track, \u201cBetter Safe Than Social\u201d \u2014 an apt tune for the era of social distancing \u2014 then closed things out with her 2019 song, \u201cWrong Way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dodgr\u2019s In My Room <\/em>segment follows performances from Sting<\/a>, Joan Jett<\/a>, Brian Wilson<\/a>, Lucinda Williams<\/a>, Waxahatchee<\/a>, Cherry Glazerr<\/a>, Hop Along\u2019s Frances Quinlan<\/a>, Diana Gordon<\/a>, Dawes\u2019 Taylor Goldsmith<\/a>, Richard Marx<\/a> and others.
