{"id":977340,"date":"2020-06-11T11:56:23","date_gmt":"2020-06-11T17:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=1013694"},"modified":"2020-06-11T11:56:23","modified_gmt":"2020-06-11T17:56:23","slug":"hear-alunas-fearless-new-song-warrior","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kfmu\/music-news\/hear-alunas-fearless-new-song-warrior\/","title":{"rendered":"Hear Aluna\u2019s \u2018Fearless\u2019 New Song \u2018Warrior\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Aluna.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Aluna has shared her \u201cfearless\u201d new song \u201cWarrior,\u201d the latest single from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/alunageorge\/\" id=\"auto-tag_alunageorge\" data-tag=\"alunageorge\">AlunaGeorge<\/a> singer\u2019s upcoming debut solo album.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWarrior\u201d was scheduled to arrive last week, but Aluna held the track due to the ongoing George Floyd protests; instead, the single is now a tribute to the black women marching against police brutality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI have seen black women speaking out, putting their lives at risk and enjoying their blackness in a world that does not celebrate it,\u201d Aluna said in a statement.<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">\u201cThis song is for you my queens because even when you are being soft and gentle, tender and sweet you have had to fight for that right.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Aluna added of the track, which features SG Lewis: \u201c\u2018Warrior\u2019 is a portrait of a woman in the shadows. She has to see herself, instead of waiting for others, by calling on that Warrior spirit, the one that makes us fearless enough to be ourselves.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The singer previously shared an Instagram statement explaining her decision to postpone the single.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CA-uywqFCTP\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"12\" readability=\"-5.4303482587065\"><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Aluna premiered her debut solo single \u201cBody Pump\u201d in April. The singer\u2019s solo LP is expected out later this year on Diplo\u2019s Mad Decent label.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cHaving enjoyed being the main ingredient to many successful dance records, I started wanting to create the whole dish.
