But, before a new winner is announced, contestants take part in a series of preliminary events. On Thursday, contestants took part in both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/996518\/see-the-2018-miss-universe-contestants-model-swimwear-before-the-pageant\" target=\"_blank\">swimwear<\/a> and evening gown competitions.
