Fans will be stargazing at some famous faces during the\u00a02019 Super Bowl<\/strong> halftime show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Months after\u00a0Maroon 5<\/a><\/strong> was reported as next year’s halftime show headliners<\/a>,\u00a0Travis Scott<\/a><\/strong>‘s name has entered the mix. E! News has learned the Grammy-nominated rapper will join the band during the halftime show at the\u00a0Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on February 3.<\/p>\n

The news comes amid calls for the band to step down from performing<\/a> in support of quarterback\u00a0Colin Kaepernick<\/strong>, currently a free agent, who famously protested police brutality and racial inequality by kneeling during the National Anthem at games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

While Scott and Maroon 5 have not yet collaborated on a track, the 26-year-old Texas native has been celebrating major successes in his career, including his Grammy-nominated album,\u00a0Astroworld<\/em>, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to TMZ<\/a>, which was first to report the news, their sources say\u00a0Cardi B<\/a><\/strong> and\u00a0Big Boi<\/strong> are “in talks” to also join the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

However, some were not so thrilled about the news. “For what????” rapper Meek Mill<\/a><\/strong> tweeted about a headline. “He don’t need that he on fire already! Stay strong in this s–t!”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
