Less than two weeks shy of their sixth anniversary, Nikki Bella<\/a><\/strong> and John Cena<\/a><\/strong> called time out on their epic romance earlier this year. The eventual breakup verdict trailed months of speculation, as the duo oscillated between\u00a0splitting up, getting back together and splitting up again.<\/p>\n

The back-and-forth first\u00a0started back in April, when news broke that Nikki and John had\u00a0cancelled their engagement<\/a>, after having shared the in’s and out’s of their relationship (and wedding plans) with the world during Total Bellas<\/em>‘ third season. Their first foray into splitsville didn’t last long: a month later, Nikki’s rep confirmed what would be a temporary reconciliation<\/a> for\u00a0her and John in a statement to E! News, which said the couple was “working on their relationship” and “taking it day by day.”<\/p>\n

Come the end of July, Nikki and John had broken up for good. “After much time and soul-searching alone and together, we have decided to officially part ways,” Nikki told E! News in a statement<\/a> at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That was almost six months ago. Now, with the return of Total Bellas<\/em><\/a>\u00a0fast approaching\u2014<\/em>and, by proxy, the return of both Bella twins’ personal\u00a0endeavors\u00a0to the small screen\u2014<\/em>here’s everything\u00a0fans need to know about the state of Nikki’s love life, post-Cena. She doesn’t want the breakup to “interfere” with her work<\/h3>\n

“We’re both at the point that we just don’t want to be talked about at all together anymore,” Nikki told\u00a0Cosmopolitan\u00a0<\/a><\/em>during an October interview<\/a>, ostensibly speaking on behalf of herself as well as her ex\u00a0fianc\u00e9. Continuing, she said,\u00a0“We don’t want our breakup to define us or interfere with our work. And that was happening for a while.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She’s putting herself out there<\/h3>\n

Mid-way through some\u00a0teaser footage from\u00a0Total Bellas<\/em>‘<\/a>\u00a0upcoming fourth season, Nikki navigates her newfangled relationship status with\u00a0ease. “Well, I’m single,” she informs a handsome stranger who audiences haven’t met before. “Should we go dance?” Naturally,\u00a0he obliges.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She’s coming into her own<\/h3>\n

“I’m blooming!” Nikki toasts at the start of\u00a0Total Bellas<\/a><\/em>‘ latest teaser<\/a> video, before going on to refer to herself as a “phoenix rising through fire and ashes.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She’s feeling “young and fun and free”<\/h3>\n

“Single. No kids. I’m feeling young and fun and free,” Nikki says triumphantly in a November\u00a0<\/em>teaser\u00a0video<\/a>, which sees the twin boozing, shimmying and flirting her way through Total Bellas<\/em>‘ fourth season. (In that order.) \u00a0Still, the WWE veteran admits she hasn’t “kissed another guy in 9 years.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But she hasn’t quite mastered the art of “single life” just yet<\/h3>\n

“I’m enjoying being single, but I’m not really living up to the perks of a single life,” Nikki told E! News back in December. What to expect from her date with Peter Kraus, then? “You know, you have to watch Total Bellas<\/em> to see if there was sparks or not,”\u00a0Nikki said of that cozy gondola ride<\/a> she took with the former\u00a0Bachelorette\u00a0<\/em>contestant, which will play out onscreen next season. Continuing, she teased, “Maybe there’ll be date number two. I don’t know.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It doesn’t take long for Brie to unveil her pick. “Alright, let’s see\u2026Peter from The Bachelor<\/em>!” she reveals excitedly. But when the video pans to a snippet of her sister’s soon-to-be-televised rendezvous with Peter, it appears Nikki is less enthusiastic.\u00a0“I don’t know if I’m ready for this,”\u00a0she says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“The paparazzi are hounding us everywhere we are going. I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know how to handle it,” Nikki said during an October episode of Total Divas<\/em>,<\/a> when the ladies\u00a0traveled to\u00a0Miami for Nattie Neidhart<\/strong> and Nia Jax<\/strong>‘s joint birthday celebration. Despite\u00a0the unwelcome entourage, Nikki still managed to have a little fun.\u00a0<\/span>“We have this hot hired bartender, so I thought it would be really funny to flirt with him to you know, like, start some rumors,” she told the cameras, which graciously captured the whole thing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
