They don&#8217;t need to be immortalised by film. Their love is not revolutionary or beautiful!&#8221; one Twitter user <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MiszSuz\/status\/1080677098111537152\" target=\"_blank\">argued<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dear Amandla, Fire your agent. A Nazi love story? Really girl?,&#8221; another critic <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LoveAndShalom\/status\/1080638481808977920\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a> online.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Welp! 2 hours of my life I&#8217;ll never get back. Cheers to this absolute dumpster fire of a movie,&#8221; a comment <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KendridKamonne\/status\/1080816765955907585\" target=\"_blank\">read<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Amma Asante needs to explain this one because I don&#8217;t understand,&#8221; a viewer <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SosoTheWanderer\/status\/1080748462168293376\" target=\"_blank\">tweeted<\/a>. &#8220;The second half of the movie had a lot of good emotional moments since they were literally in a labor camp. But the entire premise is extremely problematic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Some pointed out a particular scene in the film in which Stenberg&#8217;s character refers to jazz music as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kdramacritiq\/status\/1080557546182725634\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;n&#8212;a music.&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0&#8220;The QUESTIONS&#8230;.THAT I HAVE&#8230;FOR AMMA ASANTE, GORL,&#8221; a Twitter user retorted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Film critic Danielle Solzman wondered if the film&#8217;s story could have been told a different way. &#8220;The question that I keep going back to is this:\u00a0 Was it really necessary to use a relationship with a Nazi as the film&#8217;s backdrop?
