OK, so maybe Julia Roberts<\/a><\/strong> was kidding when she told Ryan Seacrest<\/a><\/strong> that on E!’s Live From the Red Carpet<\/em> at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday, but the film icon did say her celebrated turn in Amazon Prime’s\u00a0Homecoming<\/em> has opened her up to a whole new medium.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“It’s so wonderful to have TV expand in this deep, rich way,” she said. “I mean I’ve never enjoyed watching TV more, not that I get a lot of time to watch TV but when I do, it’s always like completely mind-blowing.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Roberts is up for\u00a0Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series \u2014 Drama for her\u00a0turn as\u00a0as Heidi Bergman in Homecoming.<\/em> The series was based on the hit podcast, which Roberts was a fan of before signing on to star in the TV version, marking her first series regular role. No big deal or anything!<\/p>\n

The Oscar winner is up against\u00a0Caitriona Balfe<\/a><\/strong> (Outlander<\/em>),Elisabeth Moss<\/a><\/strong> (The Handmaid’s Tale<\/em>),\u00a0Sandra Oh<\/a><\/strong> (Killing Eve<\/em>), and Keri Russell<\/a><\/strong> (The Americans<\/em>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Homecoming<\/em> is also up for Best TV Drama at the 2019 Golden Globes.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
