The winner for Best Actress in a Motion Picture\u2014Drama for the 2019 Golden Globes<\/a> is none other than Glenn Close<\/a><\/strong>from The Wife<\/em>. On her way up to the stage, the actress paused to shake hands with fellow nominee Lady Gaga<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0The shocked actress then ascended the stage in a black, bejeweled cape, where she tearfully accepted the gold statue.<\/p>\n

In her speech, the 71-year-old star spoke of the honor she feels to be with her “category sisters.”<\/p>\n

“We have gotten to know each other a little bit so far, and I can’t wait to spend more time with you,” the tearful\u00a0star said. “I’m so \u2014 everything that you did this year, or what you are here for \u2014 we all should be up here together, that’s all I can say. Oh, my god, I just don’t believe it.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

More importantly, her role in the dramatic film taught her that all women\u00a0“have to find personal fulfillment” and “follow our dreams.” And she feels like she was able to do that in her life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She shared, “Here I am today, I will have been 45 years in September that I am a working actress. And I cannot imagine a more wonderful life.”<\/p>\n

Her fellow nominees included\u00a0Lady Gaga\u00a0<\/strong>for her role in\u00a0A Star Is Born<\/em>,\u00a0<\/em>Nicole Kidman<\/a><\/strong>from\u00a0Destroyer<\/em>,\u00a0Melissa McCarthy<\/a><\/strong>for\u00a0Can You Ever Forgive Me?<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/em>Rosamund Pike<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0A Private War<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

The show was hosted by\u00a0Killing Eve<\/em>‘s\u00a0Sandra Oh<\/a><\/strong>and\u00a0Andy Samberg<\/a><\/strong>from\u00a0Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>. They kicked off the events\u00a0by roasting their favorite celebs<\/a>, where they made slight fun of\u00a0Lady Gaga<\/strong>‘s “100 people in a room” saying.\u00a0<\/p>\n
