Sure, new footage of Game of Thrones<\/em> debuted<\/a> during the 2019 Golden Globes, but so did a trailer for what’s sure to be another major TV hit this year: Fosse\/Verdon<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The first teaser trailer for FX’s star-studded series about legendary choreographer Bob Fosse<\/strong> (played by Sam Rockwell<\/a><\/strong>) and Gwen Verdon<\/strong> (played by Michelle Williams<\/a><\/strong>) debuted during the ceremony and is the perfect teaser for a show about Bob Fosse. See it above.<\/p>\n

The series has Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a><\/strong> on board as executive producer and Dear Evan Hansen<\/em>‘s Steven Levenson<\/strong> as showrunner. Levenson also penned the pilot. Nicole Fosse<\/strong>, daughter of Fosse and Verdon, is also attached to the project as a co-executive producer.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“My mother and father have one of the greatest love stories ever known,” Nicole Fosse said in a statement when the series was announced. “They were extremely complex people with an indestructible bond, loyalty and trust that endured both fantasy and reality. Finally, we have a creative team with the talent and wisdom to tell the story.”<\/p>\n

The cast for the show, which is based on the biographer written by Sam Wasson<\/strong>, also includes\u00a0 Norbert Leo Butz<\/strong>, Margaret Qualley<\/strong>, Aya Cash<\/strong>, Nate Corddry<\/strong>, Susan Misner<\/strong>, Bianca Marroquin<\/strong>, Kelli Barrett<\/strong>, Evan Handler<\/strong>, Rick Holmes<\/strong>, Paul Reiser<\/strong>, Ethan Slater<\/strong>, Byron Jennings<\/strong> and Laura Osnes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Butz is taking on the role of playwright Paddy Chayefsky<\/strong>, Qualley will play dancer and choreographer Ann Reinking<\/strong>, Cash is Joan Simon<\/strong>, Neil Simon<\/strong>‘s wife and friend of Verdon. Corddry is Neil Simon, Misner will play Joan McCracken<\/strong>. Meanwhile, Marroquin will play Broadway legend Chita Rivera<\/strong>, Barrett is playing Liza Minnelli<\/a><\/strong>, Handler is playing Hal Prince<\/strong>, Holmes is taking on Fred Weaver<\/strong>, Reiser is theater legend Cy Feuer<\/strong>, Slater will play Joel Grey<\/strong>, Jennings is George Abbott<\/strong> and Osnes will play Shirley MacLaine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
