There’s a new doctor in the house on The Good Doctor<\/em>. Daniel Dae Kim<\/a><\/strong> is stepping out from behind the camera, he’s an executive producer on the series, for a new recurring role on the hit ABC series.<\/p>\n

Dae Kim will play Dr. Jackson Han, a brash new chief of surgery at St. Bonaventure. Look for Dr. Han’s arrival to shake things up at the hospital, specifically for Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore<\/strong>)\u2014his career is in jeopardy. Highmore is also directing.<\/p>\n

“As a fan of our show, I’m thrilled to be doing a guest arc with such a talented, kind and hard-working cast. David<\/strong> [Shore<\/strong>, executive producer] and I have been looking for the right opportunity and we’ve found a character that’s both dynamic and surprising. It’s an added bonus for my character to be directed by our own Freddie Highmore, who’s proving to be as talented behind the camera as in front of it. it’s been a lot of fun already and I’m excited for the episodes to air,” Dae Kim said in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

This is Dae Kim’s first TV acting gig since he left Hawaii Five-0<\/em><\/a> following a contract dispute in 2017.<\/p>\n

The Good Doctor<\/em> also stars Antonia Thomas<\/strong> as Dr. Claire Browne, Nicholas Gonza<\/strong>lez as Dr. Neil Melendez, Hill Harper<\/strong> as Dr. Marcus Andrews, Richard Schiff<\/strong> as Dr. Aaron Glassman, Tamlyn Tomita<\/strong> as Allegra Aoki, Christina Chang<\/strong> as Dr. Audrey Lim, Fiona Gubelman<\/strong> as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee<\/strong> as Dr. Alex Park and Paige Spara<\/strong> as Lea Dilallo.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Season two of The Good Doctor<\/em> resumes with the midseason premiere on Monday, Jan. 14 at 10 p.m. on ABC. Look for Dae Kim to appear in the final four episodes of season two.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
