The highly selective nominations list includes a double mention for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/bradley_cooper\">Bradley Cooper<\/a><\/strong>, who made his directorial debut with the Warner Bros.&#8217; drama <em>A Star Is Born<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>First Man<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Damien Chazelle<\/strong>, <em>Crazy Rich Asians<\/em>&#8216; <strong>Jon M. Chu<\/strong>, <em>Black Panther<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Ryan Coogler<\/strong>, <em>If Beale Street Could Talk<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Barry Jenkins<\/strong>, <em>A Quiet Place<\/em>&#8216;s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/john_krasinski\">John Krasinski<\/a><\/strong>, <em>The Favourite<\/em>&#8216;s <strong>Yorgos Lanthimos<\/strong> and <em>Mary Poppins Returns<\/em>&#8216; <strong>Rob Marshall<\/strong> were snubbed by the guild.
