Mike<\/strong> “The Situation<\/strong>” Sorrentino<\/strong>\u00a0surrendered himself to authorities on Tuesday to begin his eight-month<\/a>\u00a0prison sentence. His rep told E! News the Jersey Shore<\/em> star\u00a0turned himself in at 11:45 a.m. local time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before arriving at the Federal Correctional\u00a0Institution\u00a0in Otisville, New York, Mike\u00a0gave his followers a final farewell by doing an Instagram Live video<\/p>\n

“The comeback is always greater than the setback,” he said as he rode in the car with his new wife Lauren Sorrentino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The supportive spouse joked she would save money on food while he was away and promised\u00a0to get him a Funfetti cake upon his return. She also posted a tribute on Instagram.<\/p>\n

“So proud to call this incredible man my husband,” she wrote alongside a throwback photo of the couple. “Just found this pic from Lake Tahoe the year we got back together in 2013. To the strongest man I know, I love you endlessly, see you soon honey\u00a0#FreeSitch.”<\/p>\n

Before signing off, Mike\u00a0made one last plug by showing off his “Beast Mode” sweatshirt and promoting his clothing line and YouTube channel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The Situation will reveal himself in 2019,”\u00a0he\u00a0later added in the video. “He is currently under construction…He’s under new management right now.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

His\u00a0co-stars also sent him words of encouragement.<\/p>\n

“Sending love to my brother today,”\u00a0Nicole<\/strong> “Snooki<\/a><\/strong>” Polizzi\u00a0<\/strong>wrote on Instagram.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition, DJ Pauly D<\/strong><\/strong>\u00a0tweeted “Free Sitch” and\u00a0Jenni\u00a0<\/strong>“JWoww<\/a><\/strong>“\u00a0Farley\u00a0<\/strong>wrote “love you Mike” on Instagram.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Yesterday, Mike\u00a0tweeted<\/a>\u00a0the mail address to the institution so his fans, family and friends could write to him.<\/p>\n

“Be the change you wanna see,” he wrote on the social network.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

The MTV star was\u00a0sentenced to eight months behind bars<\/a>\u00a0in October\u00a0for tax evasion, to which he\u00a0pleaded guilty<\/a>. Without a plea deal, he could have\u00a0faced a maximum sentence of five years in jail. His brother, Marc Sorrentino<\/strong>, was also sentenced to 24 months in prison.<\/p>\n

In addition to his sentence,\u00a0Mike received two years of supervised release and 500 hours of community service. He was also hit with a $10,000 fine and $123,000 in restitution, which he has already paid.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lauren\u00a0accompanied\u00a0Mike to his sentencing and sent him words of support.<\/p>\n

\u00a0“We are happy to put an end to this chapter<\/a>\u00a0and excited to move forward in our future,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “We are blessed to have our health and the outpouring of support from family, friends & fans. We love you.”<\/p>\n

JWoww,\u00a0Ronnie Ortiz-Magro<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>Pauly D,\u00a0Snooki,\u00a0Deena Cortese<\/strong>,\u00a0Vinny Guadagnino<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Angelina Pivarnick<\/strong>\u00a0also came out to support him at his sentencing.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Less than a month later,\u00a0Mike\u00a0married<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>Lauren\u00a0<\/strong>in front of their family and friends, including many of his co-stars.\u00a0The two have since made the most of their time as newlyweds. Weeks after\u00a0their wedding,\u00a0they honeymooned<\/a>\u00a0at a spa\u00a0in Tucson, Arizona. They also\u00a0spent the holidays<\/a> together, as well as Lauren’s birthday<\/a>.\u00a0In addition, Mike\u00a0celebrated three years of sobriety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

As he ended 2018, Sorrentino\u00a0made sure to count his blessings.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

“Closing out 2018 #bestnine 3 years Sober, Married to my best friend & college Sweetheart, working with my best friends on the #1 unscripted Series on TV @jerseyshore & the love of family, friends & fans,” Mike wrote on Instagram on December 30. “#grateful.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
