Megyn Kelly<\/a><\/strong> is\u00a0making a joke about her\u00a0“busy” schedule, just days after reaching an exit agreement<\/a>\u00a0with NBC.<\/p>\n

It was revealed on Jan. 11 that, about\u00a0three months after\u00a0she made controversial comments about blackface<\/a> on Megyn Kelly Today<\/em>, the host\u00a0had finalized her exit from the network.<\/p>\n

“The parties have resolved their differences, and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC,”\u00a0the network said in a statement.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>, Kelly\u00a0will be paid the remaining $69 million, as previously promised in\u00a0her three-year contract, and she will no longer be held to a non-compete clause. That means Kelly is able to\u00a0start work elsewhere immediately.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Before that happens, Kelly is making a trip to jury duty.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Kelly took to Twitter on Thursday to make a joke about her employment status before\u00a0starting her day at jury duty.<\/p>\n

“About to begin jury duty this morning,” she told her followers.\u00a0“Slightly concerned about the effectiveness of the ‘I’m far too busy’ excuse this time.”<\/p>\n

Following Kelly’s on-air comments, her show was cancelled<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Megyn Kelly Today<\/em>\u00a0is not returning,” an NBC News spokesperson confirmed in a statement to E! News in October. “Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other\u00a0Today<\/em>\u00a0co-anchors.”<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Earlier this month,\u00a0Dylan Dreyer<\/strong>\u00a0revealed\u00a0she will be co-hosting<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0new third hour of\u00a0Today\u00a0<\/em>every weekday morning at 9 a.m. with\u00a0Al Roker<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Sheinelle Jones<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Craig Melvin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
