The nominees for the 2019 Oscars<\/a><\/strong> have been revealed!<\/p>\n

Early\u00a0Tuesday, Tracee Ellis Ross<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Kumail Nanjiani<\/strong>\u00a0announced the nominees for this year’s award show<\/a>,\u00a0which is set to take place\u00a0on Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The Favourite<\/em> and Roma<\/em> both scored 10 nominations on Tuesday, leading the list of incredible nominees. A Star Is Born<\/em> is also among the top nominees, landing eight nods, including Best Actor for Bradley Cooper<\/a><\/strong> and Best Actress for Lady Gaga<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Gaga actually made history this morning, as did Black Panther<\/em>, which scored seven Oscar nominations, including Best Picture.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at all of the artists and films that made history with their 2019 Oscar nods!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Lady Gaga:<\/strong> The A Star Is Born<\/em> actress and singer received nods for Best Actress and Best Original Song for “Shallow,” along with\u00a0Mark Ronson<\/strong>, Anthony Rossomando<\/strong> and Andrew Wyatt<\/strong>. Gaga has made history\u00a0with these Oscar nominations as she is the first person ever to be nominated for both Best Actress and Best Original Song\u00a0in the same year.<\/p>\n

She’s also the second person to receive both acting and song nominations at the Oscars.\u00a0Mary J. Blige<\/a><\/strong> was the first to achieve this at the 2018 Oscars<\/a><\/strong> for Mudbound<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Black Panther<\/em>:<\/strong> The film made Oscars history on Tuesday, becoming the first-ever superhero movie to be nominated for Best Picture. The film also scored nods for Best Original Score, Best Original Song for “All the Stars,” Production Design, Costume Design, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Netflix\/Roma<\/em>:<\/strong> The streaming site has scored its first Oscar nomination for Best Picture with Roma<\/em>, which\u00a0is the first streaming movie to be nominated for Best Picture. Roma<\/em> is also the most nominated Latin American film in\u00a0the history of the Oscars.<\/p>\n

The film’s director,\u00a0Alfonso Cuar\u00f3n<\/strong>, has also made Oscars history with Best Director and Cinematographer nominations in the same year. And, for the first time in Oscars history, two directors of\u00a0movies nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, Cold War<\/em>‘s\u00a0Pawe\u0142 Pawlikowski<\/strong>\u00a0and Cuar\u00f3n, have also received Best Director nominations.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
