Angelo Bertolotti<\/strong>, father of Brittany Murphy<\/a><\/strong>, has died at age 92, nine years after his daughter’s death.<\/p>\n

Bertolotti, a World War II\u00a0combat veteran who was estranged from the\u00a0Clueless<\/em>\u00a0and 8 Mile<\/em>\u00a0actress and her mother and his ex\u00a0Sharon Murphy<\/strong>, passed away on Tuesday after an illness. His son\u00a0Jeff Bertolotti<\/strong> wrote on Facebook<\/a> that his dad would be taken off life support.<\/p>\n

“He passed with my beautiful sister Pia<\/strong> at his bedside, Frank Sinatra<\/strong> in his ears and a quiet calm on his face,” he wrote. “RIP Pop’s, I’ll miss your crazy insane ass, forever.”<\/p>\n

Murphy had died at age 32 in December 2009. She was found\u00a0unconscious in a bathroom shower in her West Hollywood home.\u00a0Her death was ruled\u00a0accidental and the result of anemia,\u00a0pneumonia and “multiple drug intoxication,” according to the Los Angeles Coroner’s office.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

In 2012, Bertolotti, filed a lawsuit against the\u00a0office, disputing\u00a0the coroner’s ruling and\u00a0seeking further toxicology testing. The lawsuit was dismissed.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Bertolotti did not attend his daughter’s funeral.<\/p>\n

“If I wanted to go, I would go, but I don’t want to see her that way,” he\u00a0told E! News<\/a>\u00a0in 2009.\u00a0“She was flawless to me. She was a little bright child. I have only good memories about her. She’s a memory to me now. To me, she’s off making a movie somewhere.”<\/p>\n

At the time, Bertolotti hadn’t spoken to Murphy for more than a year and had never met her husband, Simon Monjack<\/strong>, whom she married in 2007. The\u00a0British photographer\u00a0died of natural causes\u00a0just five months after Murphy’s death.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
