The <em>Escape at Dannemora<\/em> star took home the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series.<\/p>\n<p>Arquette, who previously took home a Golden Globe for her work in the Showtime series, took home the statue over <em>Sharp Objects<\/em> stars <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/amy_adams\">Amy Adams<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>Patricia Clarkson<\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/emma_stone\">Emma Stone<\/a><\/strong> for Netflix&#8217;s <em>Maniac<\/em> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/penelope_cruz\">Pen\u00e9lope Cruz<\/a><\/strong> for <em>The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Escape at Dannemora<\/em> is a dramatic retelling of real life events surrounding a prison escape in upstate New York. Arquette played <strong>Joyce &#8220;Tilly&#8221; Mitchell<\/strong>, a married prison worker who aided in the escape.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-2\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"61.570212765957\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"15.636879432624\">\n<p>Arquette previously won an &#8220;Actor&#8221; for her role in <em>Boyhood<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I thought you were saying Patricia Clarkson so I was like, yeah! She&#8217;s awesome. I told her I wanted to go to her acting class. When were outside. Thank you to my fellow nominees. I love all your work. I&#8217;m inspired by all of you,&#8221; Arquette said when she got on stage.<\/p>\n<p>Arquette thanked Ben Stiller, the director and executive producer on Escape at Dannemora, for his &#8220;incredible support&#8221; and letting her &#8220;explore Tilly and believing that there was value to the way she saw the world and felt and her sexuality and all of it.&#8221; She also thanked <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/benicio_del_toro\">Benicio Del Toro<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>Paul Dano<\/strong>, as well as the ensemble cast that had parts in the Showtime miniseries.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"text-3\" data-hook=\"scrollable-block\" readability=\"63.059278350515\">\n<section data-textblock-tracking=\"text-block-text-only\" data-swiftype-index=\"false\" readability=\"18.57560137457\">\n<p>Arquette, who made waves when she used her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/628554\/patricia-arquette-elaborates-on-her-oscars-acceptance-speech-backstage-says-equal-means-equal\" target=\"_blank\">Oscars speech<\/a> to demand for equal pay, got topical once again on stage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everyone, one order of business, some production companies are not paying people their overtime, and their meal penalties. Start taking pictures of your schedule G and your call sheet, because actors depend on that money to survive. So we have to stop that practice,&#8221; she said.
