There are five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred\u00a0musicals to love!<\/p>\n

OK, that’s an over-exaggeration, but there are<\/em> a lot of amazing musicals to fall in love.\u00a0Out of all the great choices, only eight have been given the live TV musical treatment and they are all so wonderful.<\/p>\n

Just thinking about Grease Live!<\/em> or Hairspray Live!<\/em> makes us want to start singing and listening to all the hit songs on repeat at work.<\/p>\n

With Rent Live<\/em> joining in on the TV musical treatment<\/a>\u00a0fun thanks to Fox, we are now in a live TV musical\u00a0rabbit hole that we don’t ever want to climb out of.<\/p>\n

Now that you’ve seen Rent Live<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(or hopefully you have) and fallen even more in love with Vanessa Hudgens<\/a><\/strong> who was also in Grease Live!<\/em> we want to know where you think it ranks among all the live musicals on television<\/a> that came before it.<\/p>\n

Rent Live<\/em> has some stiff competition following Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert<\/a><\/em>, which aired in April 2018 and starred John Legend<\/a><\/strong> as Jesus Christ himself.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before that musical fans were treated to A Christmas Story Live!<\/em> in December 2017, which was quite the holiday treat.<\/p>\n

Both Grease Live!<\/em> and Hairspray Live!<\/em> graced our TV screens in 2016 and Julianne Hough<\/a><\/strong> as Sandy and Ariana Grande<\/a><\/strong> as Penny really stick in our minds as the standouts from each show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course we can’t forget 2015’s The Wiz Live!<\/em> starring Glee<\/em> alum Amber Riley<\/a><\/strong> and Orange Is the New Black’s<\/em> Uzo Aduba<\/a><\/strong> as the Good Witch of the South.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Plus, in 2014 Allison Williams<\/a><\/strong> portrayed Peter Pan in Peter Pan Live!<\/em> and she proved she isn’t a one-trick pony.<\/p>\n

Last, but not least, is The Sound of Music Live!<\/em> which started the live musical trend on TV back in 2013 and had Carrie Underwood<\/a><\/strong> as everyone’s favorite governess, Maria.<\/p>\n
