Talk about a royal blast from the past!<\/p>\n

Broadway star and\u00a0Smash<\/em> and\u00a0Scorpion<\/em> alum\u00a0Katharine McPhee<\/a><\/strong> posted on her Instagram<\/a> page on Thursday a throwback photo of her and none other than\u00a0Meghan Markle<\/a><\/strong>, aka the Duchess of Sussex, when they were younger, posing together while all dressed up.<\/p>\n

“Meghan and I did musicals together as kids,” McPhee wrote. “She grew up to be the Duchess of Sussex and I grew up to star on the West End, so same life if you ask me. #TBT”<\/p>\n

McPhee and Markle were both born and raised in the Los Angeles area and began their\u00a0entertainment careers there.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

McPhee rose to fame in 2006 as the runner-up of\u00a0American Idol<\/em> season five before she\u00a0became famous for her leading role on the musical series\u00a0Smash<\/em> and supporting role on\u00a0Scorpion<\/em>.\u00a0The duchess\u00a0began her onscreen acting career in 2002 with a small part on General Hospital<\/em> and went on to\u00a0star\u00a0on the show\u00a0Suits<\/em> for seven seasons. She quit\u00a0acting<\/a> soon after she and husband\u00a0Prince Harry<\/a><\/strong> got engaged in 2017.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

McPhee geotagged her Instagram post “London, United Kingdom,” currently both her and the duchess’ home. Next week, the actress is set to reprise her Broadway title role from\u00a0Waitress<\/em>\u00a0and make her West End debut in\u00a0the first production of the musical in the\u00a0U.K.\u00a0capital.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
